My friends don’t know why they hate Obama. I guess since im from the south people dislike obama because a) He is black b) He is a democrat. I don’t get why people are so close minded about their political beliefs that they have no idea about. These people are strong republicans with no real reason. I just don’t get it. This country is doomed, thats about all there is to it.

Basically in America there are 3 choices when it comes to politics. You can either 1. Be a democrat 2. Be a republican and even though i don’t agree other people say if you don’t go blue or red you 3. throw your vote away.
Why i don’t vote Dem- Democrats believe in a huge government. Democrats want to be as close as possible to socialism as they can be without being called socialism. They want the government to control the entire market which is constantly holding the market back. Regulations, for the most part, are the worst thing you can do to a market. The fact is they want to treat everyone fair but im sorry there is no way you can do that. Giving poor people money to help them may help a few people but for the most part it is just going to make people lazy. People in my family have and constantly take advantage of this and it pisses me off.
Why i don’t vote Rep- Republicans supposedly believe in a market that is fair and has less regulation but ever since George W. bailing out the “Big 3” i have doubted this more and more. Republicans still want a big government, they just want a government that can protect Christianity. I find this terrible! I understand that in your religion it says to spread the word in everything you do but in the constitution it states freedom of religion. People can choose their religion but people can’t choose where they are born into. We claim to practice religious freedom, which means we should legalize gay marriage (different argument for a different post), yet we have all these laws, mainly being forced by republicans, that make us follow certain christian rules.
Why voting something else isn’t a waste- To me when you vote for someone less popular it holds more weight than a vote for someone else. The candidate you want may not win but people will notice more people voting for someone who isn’t red or blue. Thats why i suggest people vote for Gary Johnson! He may have some bold claims on how much money he will cut but i rather that over someone who goes in saying they can’t make any cuts!
I am regular guy living in louisiana who created this mainly to talk politics to people. I want to see what people believe in and why. I want to then debate those ideas (in a friendly way of course). I myself believe in certain aspects of libertarianism. I agree in freedom of the people and the market. I do not go so far to say that i believe in every country should get its own currency but i do believe in a very low regulated market, gay marriage, legalization of most to all drugs as well as ending social security, welfare, the tag “non-profit”, the fed, and most other government ran programs. If you are curious about any of these just strike up your side of the debate and i will surely discuss with you. This is just a short intro and i shall be posting a lot more here lately.
